Especially For Pastors

As a church leader you play the key role in mobilizing your church for world evangelization. When the pastor shows forth his interest and excitement for what God is doing in other parts of the world, it has a contagious effect that ripples through the entire congregation, awaking them to the task that lies before them. The resulting renewed prayer, giving and going opens the door for God to work in powerful ways not only in distant countries, but also back home in the local church. There is example upon example of local churches that focused their energies on world evangelization, only to be surprised at what God was doing locally.

Bridging the Gap:  There are some excellent resources available as you consider how you may stir interest in your church in regards to world evangelization. The Bridging the Gap material will help you, your missions committee and/or governing board to have a "working meeting" in which you lay out 5 year goals for missions. Contact the District Director of Missions if you would like more information concerning scheduling this seminar or if you would like to speak with other pastors in the district who have already mapped out goals and have begun to see the results.

Unreached People Groups & Sister Churches:  Some churches have found that missions has become more real as they have "focused in" on an Unreached People Group. Through persistent prayer they can direct their attention to a specific group of people who have yet to hear of Jesus Christ. Still other churches have entered into a "Sister Church relationship" with an Alliance church in a foreign country. As the two churches share prayer requests back and forth, it proves to be a great way to personalize missions. If you think that your church would be interested in either of these opportunities, please get in touch with the District Director of Missions who may explain to you how to proceed.

In the following paragraphs you will find some resource articles related to world missions that will be helpful to you and your church leaders.
